Queensland Renewable Energy Zones (QREZ) development aims to improve coordination of investment in electricity transmission and renewable generation infrastructure, creating benefits for local communities and attracting new industries while delivering on Queensland’s renewable energy target (QRET) of 50% renewable energy by 2030.

The Technical Discussion Paper presents the desired QREZ model attributes and how this model corresponds to renewable energy zones at the national and jurisdictional levels.

This phase is mainly relevant to:

  • renewable energy operators, developers, and investors
  • energy market and network operators
  • energy market regulators
  • energy councils
  • large energy users.
