Conditions of entry for the 2022 Buy Queensland Supplier Awards

  1. The 2022 Buy Queensland Supplier Awards (‘the Awards’) are being conducted by the State of Queensland through the Department of Energy and Public Works (‘the State’).
  2. All information and instructions regarding the Awards published by the State, and the Buy Queensland Supplier Awards Nomination form, form part of these Conditions of Entry (‘the Conditions’).
  3. Suppliers (‘the Nominee’) agree to be bound by these Conditions. Failure to abide by these Conditions may render a nomination ineligible for the Awards.
  4. Nominations open in May 2022 and close at 11.59pm on 20 July 2022. The State reserves the right to extend the final date of entry submissions.
  5. All nominations need to be submitted via the online submission portal. No responsibility will be taken for nominations which are not received by the final date, including lost or misdirected nominations.
  6. The State may change these Conditions or cancel or vary the Awards at any time. Notice of this will be given on the Buy Queensland website.
  7. It is a matter for each Nominee to determine whether to participate in the Awards. To the full extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any injury, damages, expenses or loss whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) by reason or any act of omission of the State or its officers, employees, subcontractors and agents in relation to the Awards.
  8. The State and judging panel reserve the right to reject or disqualify a nomination, if in their sole discretion, the nomination is found at any stage not to have complied with these conditions of entry, information contained in the nomination is false or misleading, or the nomination brings the Awards into public disrepute or ridicule, or offends public opinion, or reflects unfavourably upon the Awards’ reputation.

Promotion and marketing

  1. The State and the judging panel reserve the right to verify the eligibility of the nomination at any time.
  2. In submitting an Award, the Nominee agrees to the State using their personal information (including their name and image) and materials contained within the submission in connection with the Awards, to report on, publicise and promote the Awards, both now and in future years, including in print and online format, such as the State’s websites and social media channels.
  3. Nominees may be requested by the State to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes to be used in future marketing and promotional activities.
  4. The winner(s) and highly commended nominee(s) (as determined by the judging panel) in each category may be invited to attend a Supplier Award ceremony which may be held in late 2022.
  5. Nominees should be prepared to attend an interview and/or on-site inspection with the judges if required. This will enable the nominees to demonstrate unique or outstanding features of their work and to explain any other relevant matters.

The Judging Process

  1. Each Award category will be judged by a panel of industry and/or government professionals selected by the State.
  2. A nominee may only nominate for one Award category. Should a nominee nominate for more than one Award category the judging panel may, at their sole and absolute discretion, elect to not consider any nomination from the nominee, or only consider a nomination for a single category of their choice.
  3. The judging panel may decide not to present an Award in a particular category if they do not consider that any nominee meets a standard sufficient to warrant the presentation of an Award. The judging panel may also decide to present joint Award winners and/or present one or more highly commended commendations given in addition to, or instead of, an Award.
  4. The decision regarding Award winners and/or highly commended commendations is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  5. The judging panel has been carefully constituted to ensure that no conflict of interest exists or is seen to exist.
  6. The judges reserve the right to determine the eligibility or otherwise of each nomination and may transfer a nomination from one Award category to another if they consider it necessary.
  7. The ‘Minister’s Buy Queensland Award’ will be selected by the Minister for Energy, Renewables and Hydrogen and Minister for Public Works, from a shortlist of eligible nominations provided by the judging panel.
  8. In no event will the State or the judging panel be held responsible for any comment, viewpoint, or expression, whether direct or implied, concerning the standard or quality of a nomination.
